About Lynanne
Graphic design has been apart of Lynanne's life since high school, where she worked as the lead designer for the national award-winning yearbook. In college, she was inspired to pursue a design and illustration degree along with heading up the yearbook, newspaper, and interning with the college's marketing department. Further internships in the printing industry and work at community newspapers motivated Lynanne enter the world of journalism.
In 2006, Lynanne moved to Arizona to work as a copy editor and graphic designer at the Sierra Vista Herald and Bisbee Daily Review in Sierra Vista, Arizona. This Southwestern border city and home of the U.S. Army's Fort Huachuca is a dynamic place to cover the news. Topics of both local and international significance were covered: illegal immigration, military issues, and water and natural resources. Lynanne also had roles as business editor, features layout design, and copy desk manager. She was named employee of the month while working at the Herald/Review, and the staff was recognized with Arizona Newspaper Association awards for design, copyediting, and website.
In 2009, Lynanne decided to change gears and work on Fort Huachuca as a military contractor supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency's Joint Interoperability Test Command. In her positions at JITC, Lynanne has worked as both a technical writer/editor and telecommunications systems tester. Key projects Lynanne worked on were Command and Control communications testing, operational testing policy, and other documentation and testing efforts supported by this DoD agency. She was named employee of the month for her work on the JITC's Operational Testing Guidebook, which is an agency-wide go to resource for the operational test community.
Lynanne continues to advance her skills through education. In addition to her bachelor's of fine art degree in design and illustration, Lynanne is working on an MBA through Western International University and web development certification at Cochise College. She has had additional training through Arizona Newspaper Association/ ASU Cronkite School in journalism, Defense Acquisition University, and ManTech University. Lynanne is interested in continuing education training in the following areas: technical communication, graphic design, web development, social media/Web 2.0, knowledge and content management, process improvement (agile, scrum, six sigma, lean), journalism/media, and system engineering and analysis.
Lynanne is a member of the Society for Technical Communication, Women In Defense, and the National Defense Industrial Association.
Outside of her work interests, Lynanne enjoys traveling, volunteering, and being a creative cook.
